Nexus Gaming, in a return to the world of Battlefield, has completed the season with a 6-2 record. With the only losses coming from Dynamic and Check 6. The season overall is considered a success as we have brought in a myriad of new players to our organization. We would like to welcome Sl33k, Viper, and Moose to our organization. We hope that after the conclusion of this season\\\\\\\'s playoffs that our new members feel welcome and excited for all the new games around the corner! Getting back to the matter at hand though, Nexus cruised through the season, building chemistry and working out the kinks for the playoffs. With a top 3 seeding we are looking forward to a weeklong break before we get back into the action. A big congratulations to all of our players on a great season, the staff appreciates all of the players who have helped us along the way and we are proud of another performance in which Nexus Gaming has proved to be a dominant force. NERV LAN 2008 COD4 Tourny
Nexus Gamings COD4 team had one thing in mind heading into NERV LAN. To Win, and that is what they accomplished by beating Team EG in the championship match. What can be described as one of the biggest COD LANs ever to be held in North America, it surely did not disappoint. Teams such as Pandemic, Evil Geniuses, Guardians, and Power House Gaming to name a few, battled it out for a chance at a piece of the $6000 prize pot. The overall winner taking $3615 + Razor Mice, second place taking $1506, and third taking $903.

Nexus arrived in Allentown, Pennsylvania on Friday and jumped into the action right a way beating Wreckpoint 13-0 on mp_backlot. Saturday was supposed to be a big day of matches; unfortunately Mother Nature had other ideas. Only a few matches were played in round two including Nexus win over Team Loading 13-5 on mp_pipeline before a major storm went through Allentown and caused a major power outage. With the LAN center unable to continue, teams headed off to there hotel rooms to get some rest before their next matches. Eventually, the power came back and the matches resumed around four in the morning.

In the third round Nexus faced the winners of the CYGAMZ LAN Power House Gaming on mp_citystreets. However, lady luck was not on PHG side this time as Nexus rolled on in a convincing manner winning 13-3. Round 4 of the tourney will probably go down as the round of upsets as EG pulled a big upset over Team Pandemic in the upper bracket and Rebels aka RoM upset 50|CAL in the lower bracket. Nexus though took care of business beating Guardians on mp_Vacant 13-3. Round 5 of the upper bracket saw two strong teams go at it on mp_crash. EG coming fresh off the win against Pandemic looked to continue their hot streak against Nexus and punch their way into the final match. In a very close and intense match, Nexus was able to pull out the big win 13-9 and guarantee them a top 2 finish.

With Nexus sitting pretty as the winners of the upper bracket, three teams remained left with a chance to meet Nexus in the championship finals match. Guardians faced the challenge of having to beat a very strong Pandemic team which no doubt was looking to show everyone that their earlier lost to EG was a fluke. Instead Pandemic met Gods holy warriors and lost 13-5 on mp_backlot. With the win Guardians now faced an EG team that has been playing strong all throughout the tourney. The loser locking up third place and the winner going to take on Nexus in the championship finals match. In an exciting match on mp_citystreets EG showed the world that they are one of the top teams in NA beating Guardians 13-8.

The match everyone has been waiting for placed EG against Nexus. If Nexus was going to claim the title as the top team in NA, they would first have to go through EG. In this double elimination format, EG picked mp_vacant as the first map to be played. Being EGs strongest map they won a close one 13-9 giving Nexus their first lost of the tourney. Most teams lose confidence after they lose a match, and some crack under the pressure during a must win match. Nexus would fall in neither of these categories as they show EG how championship finals are won, beating them in the second match on mp_strike 13-5.

Recently, Nexus Gaming has been outweighing its competition after losing in week one of CEVO-Professional. After the entire roster shake ups, and losing to Powerhouse week one, people started to question whether Nexus was championship worthy. Nexus proved its critics wrong by beating what people believed to be the best in Call of Duty 4, Team Pandemic. The next week they would beat the newly acquired EG team. In addition, they would have people question them in CAL Main. They would take on their pro-claimed rivals Eximius Sports in week two. The community thought that this would be a close match, after Eximius beat Nexus in CEVO FTF. Nexus turned heads once again by blowing out Eximius 18-6.

As Nexus heads into the week before NERV, they start to prepare for their first LAN together. They will start to go over their strategies for each map. They will head out at the end of the week and arrive ready to compete. With people calling cheats, Nexus hopes to carry its online carnage over to the LAN event.
